The Dawson ISD iPad 1:1 (One to One) Mobile Learning Initiative will place an Apple iPad in the hands of every student in grades 7-12 at the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. However, the initiative is about more than the iPad. It is about changing the process of teaching and learning that takes place in our classrooms; it is about developing collaborators, communicators, and critical thinkers. The Mobile Learning Initiative represents the Dawson ISD's commitment to equipping 21st century learners with 21st century tools and skills. The iPad will become the student's personal mobile learning device for the entire school year. They will be able to take the iPad home for school and personal use, but will be required to bring it to school each day, as it will be their main source of technology used regularly as a part of instruction.
