If in class we would be ending the semester by designing your own flower shop and putting together your professional portfolios. We are still going to do two parts of this project and I will work on getting your photos for your portfolio next week. For this assignment you will create a flyer (can be done in Google Slides or a Google Doc) for your flower shop! Flyers must include 1)Flower shop name 2)Selling message (what's on sale/what are you advertising at the moment) 3)Location & Contact Info. and 4) at least 1 Picture/Illustration
For this assignment you will write a radio commercial advertising your flower shop which should be fun and energetic! I would love for this to be voice recorded and have each of you submit the voice recording, but if you are unable to do so, you may submit a written copy done in Google Docs.
Besides Valentines Day, Mother's Day is one of the biggest holidays for florists. If we were in school we would be making an arrangement of some sort for our Mothers/Guardians. You will have two options for this assignment, you may either sketch an arrangement on a piece of paper and explain the flowers/materials used, then submit a picture of your sketch OR you may actually make something for your mother or guardian, then submit a picture of what you made. Please turn pictures in to Google Classroom, do not email or share them with me.
I got this from another teacher, but it is a fun way to keep y'all creating hands-on designs outside of class! Follow the instructions on the attached document and note that there are two turn-ins (first due April 24th, second at the end of May). Pictures of final project may include your student ID, name written on paper, or a picture of you with the project.
Aside from weddings, sadly a major portion of a florist's income is derived from funerals and sympathy arrangements. In this week's assignment you will say your goodbyes to a beloved cartoon character (please no caronavirus-related deaths) and aid in the planning of their funeral (as if not in quarantine). This assignment has 3 parts: Funeral Plan, Funeral Program, and a Casket Spray design. Attached is an instruction sheet for all three parts. Each part will be posted as a separate assignment as you will be given a grade for each part.

Funeral Program Must Include: A PICTURE OF THE CHARACTER BEING HONORED, A SHORTENED VERSION OF THEIR OBITUARY AND AN ORDER OF EVENTS FOR THE FUNERAL. See instruction sheet and examples in attached document.
