Landscape Design-8th Period Assignments

Name 3 tools used in landscape design, include a picture of each, and at least 1 safety rule for the operation of each. You may do this by creating a Google Doc or Google Slides file.

Measure 3 items in your home (must be larger than 1'x1') and draw the items to the scale of your choice on a piece of paper. Include on your drawings the actual measurements of the item and the scale you have chosen to use (example: 1" = 5'). Submit a picture of your drawings here.

Draw an overhead view of your house (just the outline shape) on a piece of paper and add items to the "final design" using at least 3 symbols learned in the previous assignment. Submit the picture of your final drawing here.

Follow the instructions on the attached file to accurately draw landscape symbols to the scales listed. You will take a picture of your drawings and turn it in here, do not email or share the picture with me.

HELP!!! Please review the following photo and scenario/case study of a residential lawn area in DESPERATE need of a makeover! Then give me a list of 5 things you would do to improve/redo the area if you were the hired landscape designer.....remember our principles and elements! Must include at least one structural change and one plant type you would incorporate in the list of 5 design area modifications.

For this week's assignment you will identify a portion of your home landscape or a that of a public place and tell me how you would landscape the area if you were to completely redo it. You must fully explain how you would change it structurally and include specific plant names of what you would plant in this area. You can either take a picture and put it into a Google Slides presentation detailing how you would change it and what plants you would install or you can video the area and explain on video how you would redesign the area and submit the video. PLEASE TURN THE ASSGINMENT IN HERE ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM....DO NOT EMAIL OR "SHARE" THE FILE.

Option 1: Use whatever materials available to you to create a model of the plant you chose to create for your "social media" page. When done submit picture of the final project. (see attached file)
OR
Option 2: Complete a home landscaping project (if you have already submitted some for previous weeks, this project must be different) and submit before and after photos of the completed project.

Choose a plant from the plant ID list we used for plant ID assignments to create a personal page which resembles the profile of a social media page such as Facebook or Instagram. This profile may be completed in google docs or google slide (would only be one page or slide). Your profile should include:
1. Name of the plant
2. Contact info (where the plant grows best/where it is most commonly found)
3. Interests (requirements for growth)
4. Friends (if used in a mass planting, what 2-3 other plants would you plant with or around it)
5. Groups (what is the plant classified as? ex. tree, shrub, groundcover, grass, flower, greenery/foliage
6. Pictures (3 pictures of the plant)
7. *Optional* Comments: any other information about the plant which would enhance its profile
