Superintendent’s Welcome
Hello!
Welcome to the Dawson Independent School District, home of the Bulldogs! I am honored and excited to serve as the Superintendent of this outstanding district, where we are committed to providing our students with a quality education that prepares them for the future.
Dawson ISD is a small but mighty district that serves southwestern Navarro County in central Texas. We have one school with two campuses: Dawson Elementary School (Pre-K through 6th grade) and Dawson Jr/Sr High School (7th through 12th grade). We have a total of 38 teachers, with an average of 13 years of teaching experience, many of whom are Dawson High School graduates themselves. We have an enrollment of around 525 students, with a 100% graduation rate in the last six years.
At Dawson ISD, we believe in the potential of every child and we strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth and social responsibility. We offer a variety of programs and opportunities for our students to explore their interests, talents and passions, such as dual credit college courses, extracurricular activities, athletics, fine arts and more. We also partner with our families and community members to ensure that our students have the resources and support they need to succeed.
As we embark on a new school year, I invite you to join us in our mission to make Dawson ISD the best place to learn, work and grow. Whether you are a student, parent, staff member or community member, you are an important part of the Bulldog family and we value your input and feedback. Please feel free to contact me or any of our campus administrators if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. Together, we can make Dawson ISD shine!
Thank you for choosing Dawson ISD and for trusting us with your children’s education. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to make this a great year for our Bulldogs!
