Dawson ISD Application for Employment

We are pleased that you are considering employment with the Dawson Independent School District!

In order for our Employment Office to properly process your completed application, 

all attachments must be completed and all of the following items must be submitted with your complete application:

• Copy of ALL Transcripts
• Copy of Teaching Certification
• Placement File or Record of Student Teaching
• Resume

All prospective applicants should be aware of the District’s policy to afford a Drug-Free, Smoke-Free Workplace for ALL its employees. Currently, those employees that are required to hold a commercial driver’s license and transport students will be requested to consent to drug testing at anytime under the rules and regulations set forth by the Transportation Department of Dawson ISD.

Any INCOMPLETE applications WILL NOT be considered for employment.

Adjudication and conviction refer to a conviction, plea of guilty or no contest (nolo contendre), probation, suspension, or deferred adjudication.

Charge refers to a formal criminal charge as documented by a primary charging instrument (a complaint, information, or indictment) under the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.

Inappropriate relationship refers to the crime of improper relationship between educator and student in Texas Penal Code section 21.12, and any other inappropriate relationship as determined by the State Board for Educator Certification.

RELEASE OF INFORMATION FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
In order to determine my suitability for employment, I hereby authorize Dawson Independent School District, pursuant to the Texas Education Code 22.083, to obtain any criminal history record information from any law enforcement agency. I understand this my include a search of local, state and/or national law enforcement agency records and hereby expressly release any and all information these agencies may provide. If there is a need for clarification of my identity, I agree to provide additional information, including but not limited to photographs and fingerprints. Please accept this as my signed statement, authorizing the release of such information to Dawson Independent School District and its agent or representative.

APPLICATION AGREEMENT
I hereby certify that the above information contained in this application for employment with the Dawson Independent School District, to the best of my knowledge, is true, accurate, and complete. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Enclose with your application a copy of your current teaching certificate. If you are a beginning teacher, attach a letter from the college registrar stating teaching fields to be certifiable instead. Copy of transcripts of college work must be submitted with the application. Any misrepresentation or willful omission of facts shall be sufficient cause for disqualification of this application or termination of employment. Furthermore, it is understood that this application and records become the property of the Dawson Independent School District, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. I further agree to observe all rules, regulations and policies set forth by the Dawson Independent School District. I further hereby authorize the School District to conduct any work history, personal reference or police record inquiries to determine my acceptability for employment.
