Description
Dawson Independent School District is seeking an experienced, student-centered Elementary Principal to lead Dawson Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be an instructional leader with a strong vision for academic excellence, a passion for supporting teachers, and a commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive school environment for all students.
Responsibilities:
-Provide instructional leadership to ensure high levels of student achievement and teacher effectiveness.
-Oversee all campus operations, including curriculum implementation, staff development, student services, and school safety.
-Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community to foster a positive and collaborative school culture.
-Evaluate and support teachers through classroom observations, feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
-Analyze campus data to inform instructional practices and drive continuous improvement.
-Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
-Manage campus budgets, resources, and personnel.
-Lead parent engagement initiatives and represent the campus in district and community activities.
-Support special programs including special education, 504, RTI, and gifted education.
-Ensure a safe and orderly environment that promotes learning for all students.

Requirements
-Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field (required)
-Valid Texas Principal certification (required)
-Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience (required)
-Prior leadership experience (preferred)
-Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
-Ability to inspire, support, and retain high-quality educators
-Deep understanding of curriculum, instruction, and data-driven decision making
-Passion for student success and equity in education
