Dawson Independent School District is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering the academic, emotional, and social growth of our youngest learners through engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction.

Key Responsibilities:
-Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines and district standards
-Foster a classroom environment that promotes learning through exploration, play, and structured activities
-Support students’ social-emotional development, self-regulation, and independence
-Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress and adjust instruction as needed
-Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and classroom activities
-Collaborate with other early childhood staff and support personnel to meet individual student needs
-Maintain accurate records, including attendance, assessments, and parent communications
-Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
-Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and campus events

Education/Certification:
-Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required)
-Valid Texas teaching certification for Early Childhood or EC–6 (required)
-ESL certification (preferred)

Skills and Experience:
-Experience working with early childhood-aged children (preferred)
-Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
-Understanding of early childhood development and instructional best practices
-Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
