The Dawson Independent School District is committed to maintaining safe, clean, and well-kept facilities for our students, staff, and community. We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance / Grounds Employee to assist with campus maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of district grounds and facilities.

Position Overview:
The Maintenance / Grounds Employee will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping duties to ensure district facilities and outdoor areas remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute positively to the daily operations of the district.

Key Responsibilities:
-Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on district facilities and equipment
-Maintain school grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, and landscaping
-Assist with setup and teardown for school events and activities
-Inspect facilities and grounds for safety concerns and report needed repairs
-Operate maintenance tools, lawn equipment, and district vehicles safely
-Assist with painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair tasks as assigned
-Ensure campuses remain clean, safe, and well-maintained
-Follow district safety procedures and maintenance schedules
-Perform additional duties assigned by administration or maintenance supervisors

Requirements
-High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
-Previous maintenance, groundskeeping, or custodial experience (preferred)
-Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures
-Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
-Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects
-Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Valid driver’s license (preferred)
-CDL is a plus
