Dawson Elementary received $9,800 today to empower struggling readers and English as a second language students to read independently through the use of reading pens. This empowerment will help students develop confidence in their reading abilities across subject areas. The tool will also provide one-to-one inclusive accommodation by allowing students to remain in the classroom with their peers.
The grant, written by Elementary Principal Andrea Farish, is made possible through the ESC Region 12 Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 Technology Foundation. These technology grants are provided to support educational technology programs. #DawsonPride #R12GoodNews
